Leggi questo breve articolo e mettiti alla prova con alcuni esercizi per <strong>capire la differenza tra some e any in inglese.<\/strong><\/p><h2>Some e any in inglese: che differenza c&#8217;\u00e8?<\/h2><p><em>Some <\/em>e <em>any<\/em> sono entrambe parole definite in grammatica <strong><em>quantifiers<\/em><\/strong>. Assieme a parole come <em>much <\/em>e <em>many,<\/em> i quantifiers permettono infatti di indicare la quantit\u00e0 di qualcosa, anche se in via approssimativa. Potremmo in effetti tradurre<em> some<\/em> come \u201cun po&#8217;\u201d. Ed ecco che subito arriviamo a una prima differenza con <em>any<\/em>: il pi\u00f9 delle volte, <em>any<\/em> indica una quantit\u00e0 \u201cassente\u201d (ovvero niente!). Guarda questi esempi:<\/p><ul><li>I have <strong><em>some<\/em><\/strong> apples in my fridge. Ci sono <strong>un po&#8217;<\/strong> di mele nel mio frigo.<\/li><li>There is also <strong>some<\/strong> milk. C\u2019\u00e8 anche <strong>un po&#8217;<\/strong> di latte.<\/li><li>I haven\u2019t got <strong><em>any<\/em><\/strong> pears though! Per\u00f2 non ho <strong>nessuna<\/strong> pera!<\/li><li>And there isn\u2019t <strong><em>any<\/em><\/strong> wine either. E non c\u2019\u00e8 pure <strong>alcun<\/strong> vino.<\/li><\/ul><p>Come vedi, nel secondo e terzo esempio uso any perch\u00e8 NON ci sono pere e nemmeno il vino (la quantit\u00e0 \u00e8 pari a zero). Pi\u00f9 in generale, possiamo dire che la prima differenza tra some e any in inglese \u00e8 che <strong><em>some<\/em> \u00e8 utilizzato in tutte le frasi affermative<\/strong>, mentre <strong><em>any<\/em> \u00e8 usato in tutte le frasi negative<\/strong>. In entrambi i casi, potrai usare some e any sia con <em>countable plural words <\/em>(ovvero con la S e posso contare la quantit\u00e0, come nel caso di <em>apples<\/em> &amp; <em>pears<\/em>) sia con <em>uncountable words<\/em> (ovvero quando si tratta di quantit\u00e0 astratte, come per <em>wine &amp; milk<\/em>). Non potr\u00f2 invece usarli mai con <em>countable single words<\/em> come ad esempio:<\/p><ul><li><em>I have <\/em><em><s>some pen.<\/s><\/em> CORRETTA: <em>I have <\/em><strong><em>some pen<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>s<\/em><\/strong><strong><em>.<\/em><\/strong><\/li><li><em>I don\u2019t have <\/em><em><s>any child.<\/s><\/em><s><\/s> CORRETTA: <em>I don\u2019t have <\/em><strong><em>any <\/em><\/strong><strong><em>children.<\/em><\/strong><\/li><\/ul><p>Vediamo ora la differenza tra some e any in inglese nel caso delle domande o frasi interrogative.<\/p><ul><li><em>Is there <\/em><strong><em>any<\/em><\/strong><em> bread in the pantry?<\/em><\/li><li><em>Are there <\/em><strong><em>any<\/em><\/strong><em> pens on the table?<\/em><\/li><\/ul><p>La regola generale vorrebbe che <em>any<\/em> si usi sempre nelle interrogative, ma se guardiamo bene non \u00e8 sempre cos\u00ec. Quando infatti sto interrogando la presenza di qualcosa (ovvero non so se c\u2019\u00e8 o non c\u2019\u00e8 qualcosa) utilizzo <em>any<\/em>, proprio come negli esempi sopra.\u00a0<\/p><p>Se invece io voglio chiedere, proporre o anche offrire \u201cun po&#8217;\u201d di qualcosa, dunque una quantit\u00e0 \u201cpositiva\u201d, allora utilizzer\u00f2 <em>some<\/em>!\u00a0<\/p><p>Leggi sotto per capire meglio:<\/p><ul><li><em>Is there <\/em><strong><em>any<\/em><\/strong><em> pizza left?<\/em> \u00c8 rimasta <strong>un po&#8217;<\/strong> di pizza? (la pizza c\u2019\u00e8)<\/li><li><em>Why don\u2019t we have <\/em><strong><em>some<\/em><\/strong><em> pizza?<\/em> Che ne dici di <strong>un po&#8217;<\/strong> di pizza (la pizza c\u2019\u00e8, la prendiamo?)<\/li><li><em>Would you like <strong>some<\/strong>?<\/em> Ne vuoi <strong>un po&#8217;<\/strong>?
